Nike Air Max: an iconic streetwear model

It is possible to find the exclusive Nike Air technology in a variety of models, such as the famous pair of Nike Air Max 90, which was initially designed for jogging and running. However, in recent years, the company has decided to include it even in pairs that are designed for everyday life, such as Air Max 1 Travis Scott. These models have thicker soles and offer more comfort, at the expense of performance.

Even if the American company continues to create new models for daily use, its interest in race and competitiveness has not decreased. So it remains one of the greatest leaders in this area.

Quality sneakers

The most interesting thing with the evolution of Nike Air Max is the fact that their quality has also improved. While the very first Air Max were already particularly durable, the most recent models are even better. These sneakers have also become a little lighter, which allowed them to be significantly more comfortable. It is for this reason that these sneakers are particularly appreciated by athletes.

Nike Air Max: the story of bubble sneakers

As a fan of sneakers, you know how inseparable the story of Nike is inseparable from that of running. And for good reason, it is the predilection sport of the equipment supplier. This one even around which it all started for Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman when they already worked together under the Blue Ribbon Sports entity, a few years before officially creating Nike.

From the world of sports to the street, return to 30 years of Nike Air Max.
For the two acolytes who met at the University of Oregon, win the athletics market and even more running was indeed a priority and preponderant objective.

Frank Rudy, Tinker Hatfield and the other nike angels.

To reach it, they never stopped innovating, by allocating a lot of resources to their R&D cell, and were able to count in parallel on their high star. As early as 1977, the co -founders of the Swoosh brand had the chance to see Frank Rudy knock on their door. It was he, the former NASA engineer, who gave them the good idea to insert compressed gas cells into the soles of their shoes to offer athletes a better cushioning. After conclusive tests on the Tailwind, the following year, then on the Air Force 1, in 1982, a second providential man arrived at Nike's bedside to release all the potential of Nike Air technology. This man is obviously Tinker Hatfield, the Father-Founder of the Air Max 1 and more generally of an ambitious project that his successors still strive to bring to life.

The Nike Air Max 1, born in 1987, is indeed not a simple racing shoe, as revolutionary as it is with its design inspired by the Center Pompidou and its legendary air bubble visible in the heel. It is the cornerstone of a project that Tinker Hatfield himself will continue in the following years with the Air Max 90, three years later, and the Air Max BW and 180, in 1991. The former Perchist of the University of Oregon, where he studied architecture, also has the Air Max 93 to his credit, which, as its name suggests, was released in 1993. By studying the design of all these historical and emblematic models, we can See how important it was for Hatfield to push the limits of Frank Rudy's technology, always giving it more space and visibility. It is this leitmotif which gave its name to the Air Max, diminutive of "maximum air".

A name to which Sergio Lozano and Christian Tressser were able to show up, respectively with Air Max 95 and Air Max 97. Among the other classic silhouettes in the range, let us quote the Air Max more than 2000, better known in France under the name of '' tn '' or '' shark ''.
